Volunteer Commitment

Listed below are some of the volunteer positions available with the FCYPB association, as well as events that require many volunteers. Some, but not all, of these positions are ones which will be voted on at our Annual General Meeting. It is band policy that families be active in volunteer roles as it facilitates a strong band association. Some events are mandatory and are associated with a volunteer commitment cheque.

FCYPB Board of Directors: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar and Quartermaster.

Other Volunteer Positions: Fundraising Coordinator(s), Events/Bookings Coordinator(s), Travel (Major & Local), Annual Competition Band Registration, Annual Ogden Legion Pipe Band (OLPB) Competition Organizers, Casino Organizers, Event Organizers (workshops, Christmas party, recruitment, etc.) or others as determined throughout the year.

Photography & Media Acknowledgement

I understand that participation in the Foothills Caledonia Youth Pipe Band (FCYPB), including its competition and performing bands, involves participation in public performances, competitions, parades, practices, and other band activities where photography, video recording, audio recording, livestreaming, and media coverage may occur.

I acknowledge that members may be photographed or recorded while participating in these activities and that FCYPB cannot guarantee or provide exclusion of an individual member from group photographs, recordings, broadcasts, livestreams, or other media associated with public performances and band activities.

I further understand that photographs and recordings may be taken and published by event organizers, spectators, media representatives, other participants, and members of the public, and that FCYPB has no control over the collection, use, or distribution of such third-party materials.

As part of its normal activities, FCYPB may photograph or record the band during performances, competitions, parades, practices, and other band activities for the purposes of documenting and sharing band activities, recognizing achievements, and promoting FCYPB.

I acknowledge that photography and recording of the band in these circumstances is an inherent part of participation in FCYPB's public performing and competition activities.

Individual Member Media Consent

FCYPB occasionally features individual members to celebrate their achievements, recognize their participation, and promote the band and its programs. This may include member spotlights, competition results, recruitment materials, website content, social media posts, newsletters, and other FCYPB communications.

Unlike general photographs and recordings of band activities covered by the Photography & Media Acknowledgement, this consent applies when an individual youth member is specifically featured or identified by FCYPB.

With consent, FCYPB may:

• Use photographs, video, and/or audio recordings in which the member is individually featured;

• Identify the member by first name in connection with the content;

• Share individual achievements, awards, competition results, or other band-related accomplishments;

• Feature the member in FCYPB social media posts, website content, newsletters, recruitment materials, and other promotional communications; and

• Use brief member responses, quotes, or information provided for features such as member profiles or spotlights.

  
  

FCYPB will not publish sensitive personal information such as a youth member's home address, personal phone number, personal email address, or other private contact information.

Providing this consent is optional. Choosing not to provide consent will not affect the member's ability to participate in FCYPB.

Consent may be withdrawn at any time by submitting a written request to the President of the FCYPB Parents' Association. Withdrawal of consent will apply to future use by FCYPB; however, FCYPB may not be able to remove materials that have already been printed, distributed, shared, or republished by others.

In consideration of your accepting this registration, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims for damages I may have against the Foothills Caledonia Youth Pipe Band, its agents, representatives, successors and assignees, for any and all injuries and illnesses suffered by me or my family at any Foothills Caledonia Youth Pipe Band event.

COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

FCYPB collects, uses and discloses your Personal Information (“you” and “your,” as referred to in this Privacy Policy, mean you, your children registered with FCYPB, and any other parents/guardians of your children registered with us) only for the following purposes: establishing and maintaining communications with you, including legal, security, processing and regulatory requirements; compiling statistics for analysis of our organization; creating contact, telephone and email lists; facilitating communications between parents/members affiliated with the association; generating appropriate content for our website (fcypb.org); and organizing and hosting competitions, workshops and other activities related to piping and drumming.
